German Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. brown sugar
    2 c. flour
    3/4 c. butter
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    2 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients until crumbly; save 1 cup for topping. Add all other dry ingredients together, then add milk and egg batter; the mixture will not be smooth.
    Put in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 45 minutes.
