Ingredients

1 lb. extra lean ground beef
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. mixed Italian herbs
1/2 c. canned pizza-flavored tomato sauce
4 oz. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
4 green or black olives, sliced
4 thick slices toasted and buttered Italian bread or pita bread
lettuce for garnish (optional)
Preparation

Combine beef, salt, pepper and Italian herbs until well blended.
Divide into 4 portions and shape into flat, round cakes.
