Ingredients

1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
5/8 c. Crisco
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
1 c. cornflakes
Preparation

Sift together flour, soda, salt and baking powder.
Cream shortening.
Add to mixture, then add sugars gradually.
Beat until light.
Combine coconut and cornflakes with mixture.
Drop by teaspoon on greased baking sheet 1 1/2 inches apart.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes, until delicately browned.
Makes 4 dozen.
Let cool before removing from cookie sheet.
