Apple-Rice Breakfast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. wild rice
    1 1/3 c. water
    salt to taste
    1 unpeeled apple, cut into 1/2-inch slices
    1 tsp. butter
    1 to 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Wash rice and drain; combine with water and salt to taste in a saucepan.
    Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
    Simmer, loosely covered, 45 minutes.
    Rice should be tender and most of the liquid absorbed.
    Let stand for 5 minutes; drain.
