Aprill Family'S Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. cucumber pickles
    6 medium onions
    2 red sweet peppers
    3 cloves garlic
    1/3 c. salt
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. white vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Slice pickles 1/4-inch thick.
    Quarter the onions. Slice peppers into thin strips.
    Place all into extremely large bowl. Add garlic.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Cover with salt, then ice.
    Let sit for 3 hours.
    Drain.
    Set aside.
