Ingredients

5 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 c. cut up dates
1 c. white sugar
2 beaten eggs
2 1/2 c. Rice Krispies
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
1 c. coconut
Preparation

In an electric or heavy iron skillet, melt butter.
Add dates, sugar and eggs.
(After stirring in the sugar, remove the skillet from the burner to cool slightly, or you may have scrambled eggs in the date balls.)
Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
Stir in Rice Krispies, vanilla, salt and coconut.
Form into balls; roll in crushed cereal, and they are ready to eat.
Makes 4 to 5 dozen balls the size of walnuts.
