French Burnt Peanuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. raw peanuts
    red food coloring
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan.
    Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly until moisture evaporates.
    Turn out onto a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with vegetable oil or something similar.
    Roast at 275\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Stir every 10 minutes.
