Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 qt. sliced cucumbers
    1 qt. sliced onion
    1 c. canning salt
    6 c. sugar
    6 c. vinegar
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. mustard seed
Preparation
    Put cucumbers, onions and canning salt in 9-quarts of ice cold water.
    Let stand for 3 hours; drain.
    Pack cucumbers and onions in jars.
    Bring to a boil the sugar, vinegar, turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed.
    Pour over cucumbers, then bathe in boiling water; quarts for 15 minutes or pints for 10 minutes.
