'59 Ford Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. wheat bran
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    4 eggs
    1 qt. buttermilk
    2 c. all-bran cereal
    5 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    5 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Soak wheat bran in 2 cups boiling water while preparing the rest.
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs and buttermilk.
    Sift flour, soda and salt.
    Add all-bran cereal; mix well.
    Add soaked wheat bran.
    Fill greased muffin tins and bake 15 to 18 minutes at 400\u00b0.
    Pour remaining in glass jars and refrigerate.
    Will keep a month.
    Do not stir.
    Spoon from jar into muffin tin.
