Caramel Nut Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening (part must be butter)
    2 c. brown sugar (packed)
    2 eggs
    3 1/2 c. sifted Gold Medal flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix well shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Sift together flour, salt and soda.
    Stir in.
    Add nuts.
    Use wax paper to shape dough into 2 rolls 2 inches across.
    Chill.
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0. Slice dough 1/8-inch thick.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 8 to 10 minutes.
    Makes about 12 dozen.
    Dough keeps in refrigerator several weeks.
    Slice when needed.
