Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. mashed persimmon pulp
2 to 2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. powdered cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 egg
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening.
Add unbeaten egg and vanilla; cream again.
Sift and add dry ingredients together.
Mix with the shortening and egg mixture.
Add nuts and bake as drop cookies about 10 minutes in a 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 oven.
