Chocolate Town Special Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 3/4 c. sugar
2/3 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
1/2 c. boiling water

Preparation

Grease and flour two 9-inch layer cake pans.
Cream the sugar and shortening until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Add vanilla.
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Add flour, baking soda and salt alternately with buttermilk.
Make a heavy paste of the cocoa and boiling water.
Cool slightly.
Add and blend well.
Bake 35 minutes.
