Mud Hens - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 egg yolk (save white)
1 1/2 c. presifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg white

Preparation

Make a dough of first 7 ingredients.
Spread dough on greased and floured cookie sheet.
Place chopped nuts over dough.
Beat egg white stiff; beat in brown sugar gradually.
Spread on top of nut meats.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
