English Rocks - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
1 c. butter, softened
3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 lb. candied cherries
6 slices candied pineapple, diced
3 eggs
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
6 c. pecan pieces
2 c. diced dates
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar until light.
Beat eggs.
Add sifted dry ingredients and milk; mix well.
Pour batter over nuts and fruit; mix thoroughly.
Drop from teaspoon on cookie sheet.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
