Peanut Blossoms - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. solid shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 tsp. soda
48 milk chocolate candy kisses

Preparation

Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.
Combine in a large mixer bowl all ingredients; mix at low speed until a dough forms.
Shape into balls using a rounded teaspoonful of dough. Roll balls in additional sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
Top each hot cookie immediately with a candy kiss, pressing down so cookie cracks around edge.
Makes about 48 cookies.
