Basic Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. milk
Preparation

In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt.
With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture; add milk all at once.
Stir with a fork just until the dough clings together.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead gently for 10 to 12 strokes.
Pat or roll the dough to 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut dough with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter, dipping cutter into flour between cuts.
Transfer biscuits to an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in a 450\u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden.
Serve warm.
Makes 10 biscuits.
