Mountain Blackberry Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. firm ripe blackberries
    8 1/2 c. sugar
    1 pkg. pectin
Preparation
    Wash and grind berries or crush completely one layer at a time, so that each berry is reduced to pulp.
    Pour sugar into dry dish.
    Measure 6 cups berries into a large kettle.
    Add pectin. Stir well and bring to a boil.
    Add sugar.
    Mix well.
    Continue stirring and bring to a full rolling boil.
    Boil for 4 minutes. Pour into prepared jars and seal.
