Fresh Strawberry Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) bowl Cool Whip
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. gelatin
    1 Tbsp. water
    1 basket fresh strawberries, washed, drained, hulled and cut up in quarters
Preparation
    Clean strawberries and cut in quarters.
    Sprinkle with sugar. Set to one side until sugar is dissolved.
    Take potato masher and mash up strawberries.
    Soften gelatin in water in a cup; dissolve until clear.
    Stir into strawberries.
    Chill and when partially set, fold in Cool Whip.
    Spread on top and sides of angel food cake.
    Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
