French Bread Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (10 oz.) loaf French bread
    8 large eggs
    3 c. milk
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. butter, cut
    syrup
Preparation
    Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Cut bread 1-inch thick and put in pan.
    Beat eggs with remaining ingredients except butter.
    Pour over bread.
    Cover and refrigerate 4 to 36 hours.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes, uncovered.
    Dot with butter.
    Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
    Serve with your favorite flavor of syrup. This is a wonderful brunch dish; especially nice because the preparation can be in advance.
