Fat-Free Coffee Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. instant coffee granules
    3 egg whites
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Combine brown sugar, water and cream of tartar in heavy 2-quart saucepan.
    Cook, over medium heat, stirring often, until mixture begins to boil and sugar dissolves.
    Continue cooking and stirring often, until mixture reaches soft ball stage (240\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Remove from heat.
    Add coffee granules, stirring until dissolved.
