Chocolate Refrigerator Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. white sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    3 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted or 3 Tbsp. cocoa, dissolved in 1 Tbsp. boiling water
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour (add more, if needed)
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. finely chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cream shortening until fluffy.
    Add vanilla and sugars; beat until creamy.
    Add eggs; beat well.
    Add chocolate; mix well. Combine remaining ingredients and add; mixing well.
    Chill for several hours.
    Roll out to
    1/8-inch thick and cut with cookie cutters.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375\u00b0.
    Yield: 3 dozen.
