Boston Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. raisins
    3 tsp. soda
    1/2 stick butter
    2 c. boiling water
    3 eggs
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. flour
    nuts (if so desired)
Preparation
    Place raisins in a bowl along with the butter and soda.
    Pour boiling water over all; stir.
    Let set overnight.
    Add eggs, cinnamon, salt, sugar, vanilla and flour.
    (Add nuts.)
    Fill three greased and floured coffee cans (1 pound size) half full.
    Bake for 1 hour in a 325\u00b0 oven.
    Cool and slice.
