Creamy Nut Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening (part butter adds flavor)
    2 1/2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed in cup
    2 c. sifted powdered sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Melt shortening in saucepan.
    Remove from heat and add flour and salt.
    Stir in milk slowly.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Boil 1 minute.
    Stir in brown sugar.
    Remove from heat, stir in powdered sugar.
    Let cool and blend in vanilla and chopped nuts.
    This is very good on angel food cake.
