Grandma Croman'S Boiled Spice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
2 c. raisins
2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt
2 c. water
1 c. shortening
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Put the first 7 items into a pan and bring to a boil.
Let cool to room temperature.
Add the rest of the items.
Pour into a 13 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until done.
Does not need frosting.
