German Apple Cake - cooking recipe

5 to 6 apples
5 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. unsifted flour
2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 c. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. orange juice
Preparation

Peel, pare and cut thin apples.
Mix with 5 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon; toss in bowl until apples are covered. Set aside.
Put all other ingredients in mixer bowl and blend at low speed for 1 to 2 minutes.
Grease tube pan and fill alternately layers of batter and apple mixture (3 layers batter; 2 of apples, begin with batter). Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours. Cool.
Turn out on plate.
