Never Fail Meringue - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 c. water
    3 egg whites (from large eggs)
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    6 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Combine cornstarch, sugar and water.
    Cook on medium heat, stirring all the time, until thick and clear.
    Cool.
    Beat egg whites with salt and vanilla until soft mounds form.
    Add sugar very gradually, beating well.
    Add cooled cornstarch mixture, then beat until stiff.
    Spread on lukewarm pie and bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
