Hawaiian Wedding Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 large can pineapple, crushed
    1 c. sugar
    1 large Cool Whip
    1 box instant vanilla pudding (mix and let set)
    coconut (if desired)
Preparation
    Bake cake in 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Simmer sugar and pineapple 10 minutes.
    Pour over hot cake.
    Cool.
    Spread pudding over cake. Spread Cool Whip over pudding.
    Sprinkle with desired amount of coconut.
