German Chocolate Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. butter flavoring
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 (4 oz.) pkg. sweet chocolate, softened

Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, flavorings and buttermilk; mix well.
Sift flour, soda and salt together; stir into creamed mixture.
Blend in chocolate.
Pour into a greased and floured 9-inch tube pan.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours.
Place under tight-fitting cake cover while still hot. Leave covered until cool.
