Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
    1 can tomatoes, chopped
    2 cans kidney beans, drained
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. chili powder
    1 bay leaf
    dash of paprika
    dash of cayenne
Preparation
    Cook ground beef, onion and bell pepper until meat is lightly browned and vegetables are tender.
    Drain.
    Stir in tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, salt, chili powder and bay leaf.
    Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
    Discard bay leaf.
    Add additional water, if needed.
    Yield: 6 (1 cup) servings (3 meats, 2 breads, 1 vegetable and 1/2 fat).
