Potato Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. hot mashed potatoes
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/2 c. milk
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, unbeaten
    2 c. sifted flour
    3 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp nutmeg
Preparation
    Prepare mashed potatoes. Measure and set aside. Beat sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Add vanilla and potatoes. Add sifted dry ingredients and milk alternately. Beat until smooth. Stir in nuts and pour into 2
    9 inch pans. Bake 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes or until done.
