Orange Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 unbeaten eggs
    1 c. raisins or dates, ground with the peel of orange
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.
    Add ground raisins or dates and orange peel. Sift flour, soda and salt together.
    Add alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
