Freezer Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage, shredded
    1 carrot, grated
    1 green pepper, grated (optional)
    1 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cover cabbage with water.
    Add 1 teaspoon salt.
    Let stand 1 hour; drain.
    Squeeze out excess moisture.
    Add grated carrot and green pepper (optional).
    Boil vinegar and water for 1 minute. Add mustard seed, celery seed and sugar.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Pour over cabbage mixture.
    Freeze in plastic bags or containers. (Good after 1 week, 1 month or even 1 year!)
