Mother'S Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour (self-rising)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar well.
    Add egg and vanilla.
    Blend in flour.
    (Add food coloring, if desired.)
    Roll out and cut cookies.
    Bake 6 minutes at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0.
