Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 egg whites
nuts
1/2 c. water
2/3 c. white corn syrup
vanilla
Preparation

Put sugar, water, salt and syrup into medium size saucepan over hot heat.
Bring to a boil and cover just long enough for sugar to dissolve.
Beat egg whites until stiff (all the time the syrup is cooking).
Cook syrup to the hard boil stage.
Pour stage half over the egg whites, beating steadily.
Cook the other half of the syrup until it spins a thread, then pour over the other and beat until it starts to lose its shine and hold its shape.
Add vanilla and nuts.
Drop by teaspoon onto wax paper and let stand.
