Mother'S Foolproof Pie Crust - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1 3/4 c. shortening
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 egg
    1/2 to 2/3 c. water
Preparation
    With a fork, mix together first 4 ingredients.
    In separate dish, beat 1/2 cup water, egg and vinegar.
    Combine the 2 mixtures.
    Add water as needed.
    Then shape into 4 or 5 balls. Chill at least 15 minutes.
    (Dough can be frozen for use later. Thaw and work with it while still cold.)
