Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
1/2 c. chopped dates (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
In large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter or margarine and 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
Add water and vanilla.
Gradually add flour and nuts, beating until well mixed.
Chill for 30 minutes or until firm.
Roll dough into one inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown on bottom. Cool 10 minutes and roll in 1 cup confectioners sugar.
When completely cool, roll again in remaining confectioners sugar. Yields 4 dozen cookies, about 80 calories each.
