Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    stalks from 1 large bunch broccoli
    1 small onion
    1 small celery stalk
    1 stalk parsley
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 pt. chicken broth
    1/4 c. light cream or half and half
Preparation
    Clean and coarsely chop vegetables.
    Place all ingredients, except cream, in a 2-quart saucepan, adding a little more stock or water, if needed to cook vegetables.
    Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer until vegetables are tender, 30 to 45 minutes. Ladle the contents of the pan into a blender and puree (completely).
    Keep one hand on lid of blender so hot liquid does not spray you.
    Add cream and reheat to serve.
