Yummy Cake And Instant Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. chopped dates or raisins
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. soda
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Combine dates or raisins, water and soda; set aside to cool. Cream shortening and 1 cup sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Sift flour, salt and cocoa together and add to creamed mixture.
Add dates or raisins, water and soda mixture.
Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
