Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. melted butter (not margarine)
2 eggs
2 c. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation

Combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
Combine in another bowl the sugars, vanilla, butter and eggs.
Add flour mixture and stir together.
If it is too thin, add more flour. Add chocolate chips and nuts.
Cover cookie sheet with brown paper and spray with Pam.
Drop cookie dough by spoonful onto cookie sheet.
Use 3 tablespoons of dough per cookie. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 to 18 minutes; underbake for chewy effect. Makes 2 dozen.
