Fig Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 c. Wesson oil
    3 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. fig preserves, cut up
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Sift together first 7 ingredients.
    Add oil, mix well.
    Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
    Add buttermilk and vanilla.
    Add cut up fig preserves and nuts.
    Mix well.
    Bake in tube pan on 325\u00b0 for 1 hour (more if needed).
