Almond Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. uncooked rice
    3/4 lb. fresh mushrooms
    1 onion, finely chopped
    pepper to taste
    3 c. beef consomme
    1/2 c. chopped almonds
    2 Tbsp. poppy seed
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy saucepan.
    Add rice and brown.
    Add mushrooms, onions and pepper.
    Saute until onion is tender. Remove from heat.
    Add consomme, almonds, poppy seed and salt. Mix well.
    Spoon into buttered 2-quart casserole.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Serves 6 to 8.
