Cherry Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter, melted (melt in 9 x 9 pan)
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. milk
    1 can red sour pitted cherries
    1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and milk, mixing until well blended. Pour over butter (do not stir). Pour undrained cherries over batter; do not stir. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Do not stir. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour.
