Half Penny Snacks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, at room temperature
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, coarsely grated
    1/2 (1 3/4 oz.) pkg. dried soup mix
Preparation
    Beat butter and cheese in a medium size bowl.
    When creamy, stir in flour, salt and onion soup mix.
    Mix well and then turn out and roll into a cylinder about 9 inches long and 2 inches in diameter.
    Wrap in waxed paper and chill 1 hour or longer.
    (Dough also may be frozen, then thaw enough to slice.)
