Whole Wheat Soft Pretzels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. unbleached white flour
    1 c. whole wheat flour
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 Tbsp. active dry yeast
    3/4 c. lukewarm apple juice
    1 egg
    coarse salt (optional)
Preparation
    Combine 1/2 cup of each flour with the oil, yeast and apple juice in a large mixing bowl.
    Beat with an electric mixer for 3 minutes.
    Add the remaining flour and knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    Add more flour if too sticky.
    Tear off pieces of dough, roll into long snakes and form into desired shapes.
