Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream or 1 c. evaporated milk and 1 Tbsp. vinegar
3 Tbsp. preserves
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and egg together until light and fluffy.
Add sour cream and preserves.
Sift dry ingredients into first mixture thoroughly.
Drop by tablespoons on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen large cookies.
