Chocolate Chip Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    12 oz. chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    (For a softer, rounder cookie, add 1/2 cup more flour.) Drop by rounded teaspoon 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
    Cool slightly before removing from pan.
    Makes about 7 dozen.
