Cream Of Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. fresh uncooked broccoli or 2 boxes frozen broccoli (uncooked)
    1 medium diced onion
    4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. flour
    2 cans (15 oz. size) chicken broth
    2 c. cream (half and half)
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    If using fresh broccoli, finely chop or put through food processor; if using frozen broccoli, thaw and drain.
    Melt butter and saute onion.
    Add chopped broccoli and cook one minute.
    Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
    Gradually stir in broth.
    Stir constantly until thickened.
    Reduce heat to low.
    Cover and simmer 5 to 10 minutes, until broccoli is tender.
    Stir in cream.
    Heat short time until hot.
    Serve.
