Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or 2 sticks margarine
    2 c. sugar
    4 c. plain flour
    pinch of salt
    4 eggs
    1 1/3 c. buttermilk
    1 lb. orange candy
    2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Melt or soften butter.
    Cream with sugar.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating after each.
    Add flour and salt with chopped nuts, dates and candy.
    Add to creamed mixture.
    Bake in large tube pan prepared as for other cakes.
    Bake at 275\u00b0 for 2 1/2 hours.
