Sauerbraten - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    1/3 c. sugar
    3/4 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 c. crushed gingersnaps
    2 to 3 lb. beef rump roast
    1/2 c. sliced onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. golden raisins
    1 tsp. whole peppercorns
Preparation
    In appropriate dish, combine all ingredients except beef and gingersnaps.
    Place meat in marinade for at least 24 hours, turning occasionally.
    Sprinkle crushed gingersnaps over all. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 2 to 3 hours.
    Serve sliced with juice or thicken juice as for gravy.
