Six-Spice Cake(Recipe Dated 1936) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter or lard
1 egg and 1 yolk (unbeaten)
2 Tbsp. molasses
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. mace
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cocoa
3/4 c. sour milk with 1 tsp. soda dissolved in it
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder

Preparation

Mix ingredients and bake in moderate oven.
